Construction Manager - Telecommunications

Responsible for the overall management of telecommunications construction project. Ensures project is completed on time and to the client's satisfaction. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance.   Applicants must be familiar with telecommunications field and scope of work, with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Will lead and direct the work of subordinates. Track project and provide any necessary support to site leads/managers.  Ensure that project stays on schedule to meet deliveries. Use output of acquisition phase as additional planning input to construction phase; manage contractor as required to meet the goals.  Ensure contractors are familiar and are following all required procedures such as access and SOW procedure. Ensure contractors are following the communication plan and escalate any issues.  Attend Customer meetings and communicate project schedule status as required. Address customer issues/concerns as they arise. Agree on the services will be performed at each site with the customer and verify the communication plan and contact information. Oversee the creation and verify the accuracy of the scope, ensure that these are agreed to and quotes created based on the SOW. Provide any necessary support to vendors / contractors in the field. Ensure contractor remains on schedule to meet delivery targets and ensure they are on track for obtaining sufficient resources to support the project. Verify work complete and ensure that contractors / vendors are being paid as required. Review change orders with contractor daily. Discuss recurring items that are that are causing delays or have a potential to cause delays. Address scope creep and possible add-on services.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum four (4) years directly related leadership experience with construction background (general contractor / general construction experience); or associates degree with six (6) years progressive telecommunications construction management and leadership experience; or eight (8) years progressive telecommunications construction management and leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, MS Project or other related software as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver license.
  • Demonstrated safe driving record required to operate a company/client vehicle or vehicle for business purposes
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
  • This position requires that you work irregular hours and be able to travel anywhere in the continental United States.
  • Background, references, and education checks, and drug screening required.
