Help Desk IT Support Specialist Associate

4G Communications, Inc. is currently recruiting experienced personnel to join our team in Fort Bragg, NC.
Job is contingent on a contract award.

Job Description:

Provides support in CONUS based 24x7 Help Desk Operationsupporting the United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Center deployable CAPOCNet TACLAN Suites in CONUS and OCONUS environments. The position is responsible for first level problem determination, problem/incident recording, problem resolution and problem escalation for supported products and services. Direct knowledge of military business protocols and processes is essential to position success. Monday-Friday operations including weekends and holidays. On site at the Fort Bragg, NC, location within 2 hours.  All support to remote sites can be done remotely using telephone and/or remote network access.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming work orders, emails, and phone calls for a customer’s systems and processes; interview user to collect information; leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error. Prioritizes requests; generating Helpdesk tickets / work orders.
  • Installing and troubleshooting a variety of software packages in a Windows environment utilizing remote access software and desk-side visits.
  • Support: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite, Server 2003, Server 2008, Exchange 2003, Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2003, SharePoint 2010, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Adobe Creative Suites, Cisco iOS, Hyper-V, McAfee HBSS, McAfee Anti-Virus, RLAS, RCAS, IBM Lotus Forms, Cisco Call Manager, Remedy, all applications resident as a component of the following systems:  TACLAN, PDS-Lite, Mission Planning Kit (MPK), MISO-P, Field Computing Device (FCD), Media Production Center – Lite/Medium, CAPOC Deployable Node (CDN); Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS) components.
  • Knowledge of Tactical radio platforms is desired; e.g., PSC-5, PRC-117D, PRC-150, and associated encryption devices with an understanding radio communications and satellite communication strategies and concepts required. TACLAN Suite includes operation of HF, KU, C and X band satellite systems, Windows server 2003 and local AD administration.
  • Analyzes/evaluates incident reports / makes recommendations to reduce help line incident rate.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Minimum Associates degree in technical discipline, preferred with 5 years or more of professional experience (or) equivalent direct military experience and/or combined education / experience.  Military radio and satellite communications experience. 

Technical Skills:

  • Must meet DoD 8570 requirements
  • Must meet required DoD approved baseline certifications as described in the Army BBP 05-PR-M-0002 certified in their Computing Environment (CE)
  • Minimum Security Clearance Secret
